Archway Health Selected by Quality Cancer Care Alliance to Support Participation in CMS Oncology Care Model

Partnership To Provide Analytics and Ongoing Support of Oncology Bundled Payment Initiative

Watertown, MA, November 14, 2016 The Quality Cancer Care Alliance (QCCA), a consortium of independent community oncology practices, announced they have partnered with Archway Health to provide analytics for the members’ participation in the Oncology Care Model (OCM) program, a bundled payment program. The OCM program, launched by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) on July 1, 2016, is a voluntary payment model that provides an incentive for oncology practices to increase care coordination, lower costs, and improve outcomes.

“As we focus on providing the highest quality care to patients in our respective communities, participating in the oncology bundled payment is an important step to achieve our objective,” said Dr. Sibel Blau, Chairperson, Quality Cancer Care Alliance. “Our member organizations are committed to innovating care and improving the cancer care deliver system, and we believe Archway Health is the ideal partner to helping us navigate bundled payments and continue improving the delivery of cancer care to better serve our patients.”

The OCM program to date has approximately 200 oncology providers and 17 health plans participating. Under OCM, physicians enter bundled payment contracts holding the provider accountable for all financial and performance outcomes associated with episodes of care where chemotherapy is administered to cancer patients.

Archway helps providers through each step of the process to implement and manage OCM with opportunity analysis, patient tracking tools, practice transformation and compliance. In addition to OCM, Archway supports CMS Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI), Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) and Episode Payment Model (EPM) programs, as well as with commercial payers who are pursuing bundled payment initiatives.

“The members of QCCA all share a common mission of providing high value oncology care,” said David P. Terry, Founder & CEO, Archway Health. “This partnership to adopt and mange bundled payments that are designed to improve patient care and reduce costs demonstrates their commitment, and we are proud to work with them in this important mission.”

Members of QCCA include a number of the nation’s progressive oncology and hematology practices: Northwest Medical Specialties, Tacoma and Puyallup, WA; The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Ft. Worth, TX; Eastern Connecticut Hematology Oncology, Norwich, CT; Gettysburg Cancer Center, Gettysburg, PA; Highlands Oncology Group, Fayetteville, AR; Virginia Cancer Institute, Richmond, VA; Cancer and Hematology of Western Michigan, Grand Rapids, MI; Cancer Care Northwest, Spokane, WA; Cancer Specialists of Northern Florida, Jacksonville, FL; Carolina Blood and Cancer Care, Rock Hill, SC; Hematology Oncology Associates of Alabama, Birmingham, AL; and Hematology Oncology of Salem, Salem, OR.
