Junior and Mid-level Actuarial Analysts

Archway Health is currently seeking to augment its data science team. We are looking for 2 Health Actuaries (junior and mid-level) to join our growing firm. You will have the opportunity to work on new innovative actuarial and healthcare reform projects. As an Analyst, you will perform health analytics in support of actuarial, underwriting, and decision making as well as develop new pricing models and benchmarks for use in modeling and pricing specialized risk arrangements. These positions require an understanding of self-funded and fully insured products, underwriting, claims forecasting, risk analysis, specific and aggregate stop-loss pricing, aggregating specific deductibles, lasering, and captives.

This role will:

  • Research new pricing techniques and actively seek out novel methodologies and algorithms;

  • Analyze external and internal data sources to develop proprietary pricing factors and models;

  • Develop an understanding of data sources and availability, uses and limitations to build data sets for use in experience studies;

  • Develop diagnostic tools to be used by underwriters in pricing individual risks and managing a portfolio of business;

  • Run risk sharing simulation and model validations;

  • Support corporate initiatives/projects that require analysis of medical claims data;

  • Build and run SAS programs and queries to extract data from the database and review to ensure accuracy and validity of data;

  • Maintain existing and build new predictive models and analytic solutions using tools such as GLM, logistic regression and decision trees.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science required. •  Advanced degree preferred

  • Successful completion of at least 2 or more Actuarial exams preferred

Value Based Care Specialist

Archway Health is seeking to expand its Value Based Risk Protection Sales Team.

Archway Health’s mission is to fix healthcare through payment reform.  Archway is a national leader in developing and implementing value-based care programs in partnership with providers, employers and payers across the country.  We do this through a mix of great people who are passionate about improving healthcare, sophisticated data analytics tools that drive our unique insights, and easy to use software designed to help patients get better as quickly and safely as possible.   We work with specialty providers in all types of clinical areas – oncology, orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonology, obstetrics, hospital care, and post-acute care – all of whom are experiencing real success with improving outcomes and the patient experience while also dramatically reducing healthcare costs.

This role will:

  • Be responsible for representing Archway and our value-based risk protection support capabilities to providers within an assigned region interested participating in BPCIA.

  • Coordinate and align with broker if applicable, to lead activities to help providers assess their risks and opportunities in various value-based care programs.

  • Provide support to prospective providers through presentations, and demonstrations of Archway’s value based risk protection platform

  • Provide strong and clear guidance to prospects on all BPCIA program related regulations and conditions.

  • Coordinate internal resources when required to demonstrate to prospects Archway’s full capabilities of data analytics, care manamgent, and risk mitigation support.

  • Drive sales process for all signed prospects from initial interest stage, to signed contract.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in sales or client services capacity with healthcare providers;

  • A passion for improving healthcare for patients, providers, & purchasers;

  • Experience working with technology and software tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and social media

  • Experience and understanding of value-based payer programs including the CMS BPCI program

  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills with the ability to work independently

  • A great team player

  • BA/BS degree

  • Willingness for significant travel

Product Support Specialist – Carelink

Archway Health is seeking to augment its health application support team.

The Carelink specialist is responsible for supporting Archway’s purpose-built Carelink tool to coordinate care of Archway’s clients’ patients. The Carelink Specialist reports directly into the General Manager of the BPCI-A program. The successful candidate will provide great written and oral communication skills driven by high energy and motivation to deliver comprehensive and accurate information to our users.  

This role will:

  • Support Archway’s clients, account managers, and technology team members on a day to day basis

  • Supports all users of Archway’s Carelink care coordination software

  • Handles questions and issues via support desk software and phone calls from the field

  • Conducts software demonstrations to support the sales process during open window periods

  • Trains users to become proficient in the use of the software

  • Enters data pertaining to patient demographics and facility information

  • Transfers data from client electronic medical records and mobile charge capture where applicable

  • Transacts administrative functions, including granting access rights, resetting passwords and other updates

  • Submits requests for bug fixes and enhancements to the Technology team based upon reviewing customer problems and experiencing the software directly

  • Helps ensure accurate/ timely data collection on patients; Oversee department metrics and develop reports

  • Monitors Carelink for proper usage, adherence to care plans, identification rate, and resolution of red flags

  • Notifies account managers of any significant Carelink related issues

  • Completes various client, customer service, organization research projects with special focus on Carelink

  • Demonstrates an eagerness to learn, ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, as well as resourcefulness

  • High comfort level with current and future technology tools

  • Works in Boston office; no travel expected

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1-2 years of experience

  • Consummate interpersonal communication skills (written, oral, presentational)

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Professional and proactive independent work ethic

  • Competency in MAC applications
