Amy Bassano of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation Joins Archway Health’s Value-Based Care Workshop as Keynote Speaker

BOSTON, Mass., – October 2, 2019 Archway Health, a full-service, tech-enabled partner to healthcare organizations in risk-based payment programs, announced today that Amy Bassano, Deputy Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), will be the keynote speaker of Archway’s second annual Value-Based Care Workshop. Archway’s one-day Value-Based Care Workshop convenes providers, employers, risk managers and others participating in value-based payment programs and healthcare purchasing to share learnings and gain practical tips for improving in these areas.

Leaders at CMMI have expressed in recent months a goal to have 100% of their providers participating in meaningful downside risk contracts by 2025. In her role, Bassano is intimately involved in developing CMMI's risk-based models that will move the market in this direction and was previously the director of the team that developed the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI), Oncology Care Model (OCM), and Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) programs.

“Amy has been an integral part of CMMI since its inception, and we are so honored to have her join our workshop to share with attendees what’s on the horizon at CMMI,” said CEO and Co-founder of Archway, Dave Terry. “These new payment initiatives coming from CMS require significant changes in ways of thinking and doing business for healthcare stakeholders. Amy joining our event demonstrates CMS’s commitment to collaboration and engaging with the market on these changes.”

At the workshop, Bassano will discuss the adoption and future of value-based care and payment programs. Bassano will also address how her team at CMMI plans to meet its goals of sharing more risk with providers and commercial payers through new voluntary and mandatory bundled payment, accountable care and direct contracting programs. She will also answer questions from event attendees.

Archway’s Value-Based Care Workshop will take place Tuesday, October 29 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at The Bostonian Boston. In addition to Bassano, several value-based care experts will lead general, breakout and one-on-one sessions to educate attendees on emerging value-based care programs, improvement for current programs, risk protection, and best practices. Following the program, attendees are invited to attend a dinner near the hotel in the city’s historic North End, which will include a panel and conversation on employee healthcare purchasing.

Participation is by invite only and is of no cost to attendees. Those interested in attending should visit the event page to request an invitation
